Day 30 – Royal Mail Pub

I decided to take the scenic route home from work this afternoon to see if I could spot anything which jumped out at me as a photo opportunity. I drove past two golf clubs and the Wacol prison (in the hopes of seeing a wallaby or two) but it wasn’t until I drove past the old Royal Mail pub in Goodna that inspiration struck. I chucked a u-turn and headed back and took this photo while sitting in my car across the street. I think the Royal Mail is a great old building and after everything it’s been through over the years it really is quite incredible. The slightly rusted/faded roof along with the askew letters and the red phone box make a really cool visual.

I would have preferred if the two cars out front weren’t there but I also don’t like that the parking sign or electricity pole are there either. You can’t win them all I guess!
